Primero Sueño is a multilingual, processional opera by composer Paola Prestini and vocalist Magos Herrera, co-produced by MetLiveArts and VisionIntoArt. Inspired by Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz’s 1692 poem, the work premiered at The Met Cloisters as a site-specific performance that led audiences through the museum’s spaces, reimagining voice, intellect, and awakening through music and movement.
As part of the Cause Lab design team, I worked with VisionIntoArt and the composers to develop the visual identity and key art for the production. Drawing from early set design sketches, I created the visual world for all promotional materials, including print and digital collateral, the album cover, and assets for both the New York premiere and the subsequent staging in Puebla, Mexico.
