Dublin Bay 24
Project Management | Boatbuilding
The Dublin Bay 24 is an Irish design from the 1930s. At 38ft on deck and 24ft at the waterline, the boat is currently being fully restored at the Apprenticeshop, in Rockland, ME. Its restoration is part of an attempt to build a rejuvenated fleet of these full-keel boats. The only remaining part of the original boat is the lead keel.
I was part of the restoration effort as a builder and Project Leader. I worked across every stage of the project lifecycle: from lofting (drawing out the plans full-scale), assembling the backbone, framing, planking, fairing the hull, and setting up the deck beams for the deck to be laid.

My responsibilities as Project Leader included managing a crew of 5, keeping track of material stock, managing budget and material orders, communicating with vendors for outsourcing parts, tracking progress, and ensuring the highest level of performance without compromising the project timeline and team harmony.
